PATHWAYS TOWARDS RECONCILIATION. PHILOSOPHICAL AND THEOLOGICAL APPROACHES
May 25th-28th, 2025 Frumosu (Romania)
This international seminar seeks to explore the multifaceted pathways to reconciliation through the lens of theological and philosophical thought. In an era marked by social fragmentation, cultural discord, and ethical dilemmas, the need for restorative justice and solidarity has never been more pressing. This gathering will bring together scholars to examine the intersection of theology and philosophy in fostering reconciliation.
The seminar will address various dimensions, including the role of faith-based initiatives in promoting forgiveness, the ethical imperatives of peace-building, and philosophical frameworks that advocate for restorative practices. Key themes will include the concept of reconciliation in religious traditions, the moral responsibilities of individuals and communities in overcoming historical grievances, and the importance of dialogue and understanding in transcending conflict.
Through panel discussions participants will engage in critical reflections on how theological insights and philosophical theories can inform current reconciliation efforts. By promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, this international seminar aims to generate innovative ideas and actionable strategies that contribute to a more harmonious society. Ultimately, we envision pathways that not only heal divides but also cultivate a sustainable culture of peace, empathy, and mutual respect.
