10th edition of international seminar RELIGION, KNOWLEDGE, SOCIETY

Distance and proximity: dimensions and opportunities of inter-religious encounters

October 31st, 2024        Frumosu, Suceava (Romania)

We live in a world in which the morphology of relations is constantly dynamic and changing, thanks to new communication technologies and the global mobility network. Thus, today's social conditions determine a new context of relationality and transparency, which is leading to a rethinking of the distance between people, cultures and religions. This reality creates the premises for a rethinking of the experience of encounter in the dimension of an existential event: the interrogative reflection of the awareness of one's own identity in relation to the other, the projection of a new meaning of interreligious dialogue and the rethinking of the boundaries between religions.

The seminar aims to explore interreligious encounters as opportunities and challenges in engaging in a common effort to promote tolerance and peace.
